TWANGER

The Twanger design is a hatchet-shaped fin that redistributes the fin area into a narrow waist and a strong, wide base. Made with G-10 fiberglass, the fins are highly durable and have a refined foil, resulting in reduced drag and an ideal flex pattern. The fins are scored to limit damage to fin boxes and have a breakpoint at the tabs. The Twanger set includes 10 different fins for a full range of sizes and styles in surfing. This style is an advantage at the river wave because the area is redistributed a quarter inch lower to reduce contact with the bottom.

The twanger gets its name from the way that it builds up energy in the turn and the hatchet head flexes and then springs or “twangs” you out of the turn powerfully.

G-10:

It is considered to be the most consistent and strong fiberglass available due to its unique construction. G-10 is made from multiple layers of fiberglass cloth that are laminated with epoxy resin, compressed, and heat-cured to produce maximum strength.

This process results in a highly durable material that is able to withstand the rigors of heavy use in challenging conditions. In combination with precision foiling, G-10 fins offer a more ideal flex pattern than honeycomb or composite fins, resulting in better performance and reduced drag in the water. This refined foil design allows for greater control and stability, providing a smoother and consistent surfing experience.
